About Membership
Eligibility
Membership is limited to:
- Medically-integrated DCs, defined as those currently working (clinical, research, academic, and/or administration) in a United States medical setting (healthcare system, hospital, outpatient clinic) through a formal arrangement (employee, contractor, partner)
- DC residents/fellows who are currently in a formal postdoctoral training program sponsored by and located in a US medical setting.
Other forms of integration which might occur in DC private practice settings, such as chiropractic private practices located in medical buildings, hiring a staff MD/DO or nurse, belonging to a group with CIH providers, or other provisions would not qualify.
Roster functionality
Applications are accepted through our online portal. The DC-In administrative team reviews applicants to verify eligibility. Those meeting eligibility criteria will be sent an email with further instructions to access the member database.
Members are granted access to modify their information, and view the member database. This includes search and sort features to identify members by given professional characteristics.
Rules of behavior
DC-In
- Will not use or disclose any member contact information for any purposes without the express permission of the given member
- Will rarely (no more than once per quarter) send group-wide email to all members, limited to DC-In development initiatives, job recruitment announcements, or other highly relevant items at the discretion of the DC-In administrative team
DC-In members
- Will not use or disclose any member contact information for any purposes without the express permission of the given member
- Will be judicious in contacting other members, and use appropriate, concise email communication
- Members deviating from these rules will have their membership revoked
Data use
Identifiable member data (such as member name, facility name, contact information etc) will not be used for any purposes without the express permission of the given member.
De-identified aggregate data (such as overall number of DC-In members, distribution of professional characteristics, etc) may be disseminated on the DC-In website or through other means.
Cost
There are no dues or costs of membership. DC-In is not an entrepreneurial enterprise.
Funding
This initiative is supported by the Inter-Institutional Network for Chiropractic Research – a joint effort of the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research, the Yale Center for Medical Informatics at Yale School of Medicine, and the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School – funded by a generous grant from the Palmer College Foundation.
While DC-In is not a research project, it is expected that this effort will facilitate the development of future research teams and/or projects.
