Department of Veterans Affairs Chiropractic Integrated Clinical Practice Residency

Program Overview: The VA Chiropractic Integrated Clinical Practice residency programs are full-time, hospital-based postgraduate training program for DCs seeking innovative training and experience relevant to careers in hospitals, integrated medical systems, and/or academia.
The residencies provide advanced clinical training in complex case management, allowing recent graduates to increase their knowledge and acumen under the mentorship of senior VA chiropractors. Residents gain valuable interprofessional experience by collaborating with primary care providers, medical and surgical specialists, and associated health disciplines. The VA Chiropractic residency programs are the only postgraduate chiropractic educational programs accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must hold or be scheduled to receive a DC degree from a CCE-accredited school prior to the start of the residency program.
- Applicants must be eligible for, or hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted chiropractic license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the US, or in the District of Columbia, prior to the start of the residency program.
- Applicants must meet all VA employment requirements including United States citizen- ship, and Selective Service registration when applicable
University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Residency
Location: Bridgeport, CT
Duration: 3 years
Program Overview: This program is focused on direct patient care, scholarly and academic activities, and continued professional education as a Chiropractic Orthopedist. At the conclusion of the program, residents will demonstrate advanced competence in patient-centered, evidence- based differential diagnosis, evaluation and management of complex musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Residents will have the skills necessary to practice in a primary care environment or other interdisciplinary health care setting and will qualify to sit for the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedics Examination.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must hold or be scheduled to receive a DC degree from a CCE-accredited school prior to the start of the residency program
- Must hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted chiropractic license in Connecticut
- Must have documentation of at least 3 months of direct patient care activity within the last year. Clinical rotations during chiropractic school will suffice for recent graduates
- Sufficient spoken Spanish skills or willingness to learn the use of Spanish translation services and learn Spanish language skills.
